South East Cyber Resilience Centre welcomes CEO of Cantium to the Board

The South East Cyber Resilience Centre (SECRC) is delighted to announce that Mark Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Cantium Business Solutions, has become the latest member to join the SECRC Board.

Mark has over 20 years’ operational and consulting experience as well as working in the Local Government sector for over 12 years where he has developed an excellent understanding of local government challenges, culture, and opportunities.

Mark has held senior roles at Capita, PwC, Capgemini, EDF and Thales, growing their businesses and optimising services. This unique experience has enabled Mark to bring commercial success to local government and he has an excellent ability to join the dots to develop innovative opportunities that enhance both public and private sector delivery.

Commenting on joining the SECRC Board Mark said: "This is an exciting and forward-facing initiative which establishes a strong partnership between Policing, Academia, and the Private sector in educating and fighting the continual threat posed by cyber criminals, and the danger they pose to UK companies.

“As CEO of Cantium Business Solutions, I know that our public sector heritage and considerable cyber expertise will allow a significant contribution to be made to this important preventative initiative. More now than ever, as the number of people working remotely increases, our work with business's in raising the profile of Information security has never been more important against a backdrop of an ever increasing risk of attack"

The SECRC Board will play a crucial role in reviewing the direction of the SECRC and in providing oversight of the progress the business makes against their plans.

Responding to the announcement SECRC Director Justin Torgout added: “Mark’s experience of working in local government will be a fantastic addition to the Board. The SECRC is a not for profit company and Mark understands how to help public sector companies succeed in a commercial market, so his experience will undoubtedly help the SECRC grow.

“We want the Board to truly represent the diverse and varied business community of the South East, with experienced professionals from many different sectors. Mark brings another area of knowledge to the table which will prove invaluable to my team and to our members.”

The SECRC joins a growing network of regional centres being established as part of a national roll out to provide businesses of all sizes with access to affordable cyber security services, the latest advice and support from leading law enforcement and industry experts and help them take simple steps to protect their business from unscrupulous cyber criminals.
